Yea, it's June. And the garden is finally taking off!

I think I may have to start cutting cabbage leaves. And the purple podded poles are climbing nicely.

Had to put another top hat on the potatoes. And we have some blooms! (I THINK it's on the reds.) Mike insists that we will NOT add any more height...! Uh-huh...

Spaghetti squash & honeydews. Honeydews are blooming! Have some small broccoli in front.

How many melons did you plant? I have two watermelons planted, but am thinking I might plant more melons ...

P.S.: That snake is great! Looks pretty darn realistic. I'd probably pee myself if I came upon that unsuspecting ...

everything looks great!

as far as the Bee balm.....I believe it can be invasive as I was going to put some in a pot instead of in the garden beds.....my seedlings haven't done to well so far....so I don't have any planted out yet.....

Let's see...

Watermelon: One Sugar Baby from seed that made it thru the freezes, four Crimson Sweets (Bonnie's starts from HD), SEVEN yellow watermelons (also Bonnie's from HD).

Honeydew: Four Bonnie's starts

Cantaloupe: Four Hale's Best from seed.

Also bottle gourds (I THINK 2) & 3 luffa gourds - from seed

Snakes - I've got 5 in there right now. I keep forgetting to get more! Maybe tonight... I'm thinking I'll put some in the garden too. I've got birds worm-hunting first thing in the morning and tearing up the beds. As long as I move them every day, they work great, lol!

Hi Marie, from the looks of the pictures, those gardens are coming along nicely. Please keep the pictures coming as the season progresses, just love looking a other people's gardens.

If the potatoes are starting to flower you might want to leave them alone now. They should be busy making baby taters down there, you do not want them to switch gears and put on more top growth rather than making the babies. JUst make sure that any taters formed are covered well.

My old pappy taught me that wherever there is one snake there is another just like it. Those (that you say are rubber) might attract mates that wiggle. I couldn't trust my memory to tell me it the one I see is rubber or real.

Yes bee balm will spread wherever it can reach. It is very good for attracting bees (duh!) and also hummingbirds. Mine in my back bed is about 3 feet tall and getting ready to bloom.

Everything looks very healthy and abundant. I wouldn't be able to put a fake snake in my bushes. I would forget they were there and they would give me a heart attack. Since I live in the woods anyway, I have plenty real ones crawling around...

Yesterdays harvest.

Greek Basil, Lemon Thyme, Jacob's Cattle beans, Blue Lakes, Purple Podded - all going on the dehydrator.

Blueberries - Another 3/4 gallon!

My big surprise - It was hiding under some leaves. 1.79 lbs of Black Beauty zuke.

Those look real nice. I have been eyeing different spots in my yard for some berry bushes. Maybe next year. I'll have to get some recommendations from you as to variety to plant when I finally make up my mind.

Unfortunately, I have no idea, Yolos, lol!

Two bushes are 18 years old. Lost their info ages ago. But got them at North East Garden Center in Buford.

Three are from a guy in Duluth. Can get you his info if you want it.

Two small ones are wild NH blueberries we brought home 3 years ago from my family's place up there.

Yolos, Misty is a variety that was recommended to me for southerners.

Plus you need one other variety to ensure pollination. Think I got Sharpblue.
