Snow has melted down enough today that I can even dig in one of them. Getting my hands in the dirt felt so good! The earth is still a little frozen at the bottom, but I can already pull crabgrass (yay  Sad ) out of it. My composters are also mostly clear of snow, but again, the bottom material is still frozen.

That's the state of things in my little patch of Winnipeg. How are they in yours?

I've got to MOW!    70s here today and blustery.  Upper 40s at night, so good sleepin' weather, as Mee-Maw used to say.

Daylilies are a foot out of the ground, harvesting leaf lettuce every day, onions are 8" or more out of the ground, peppers planted, melons and squash about to be planted.  And no rain in sight.

I see you're way down in Tennessee! I've spent some time in the area, and it's lovely. I'm 1300 miles or so north of you, so snow is still a big factor.

After a long, white winter I can see mine again as well.
But its been so wet from snowelt and rain, I can't yet walk out to the garden beds without sinking in the soil so have to wait a few more days to tread lightly.

My beds have finally thawed all the way down. It was the strangest winter.   With the thaw freeze thing, the beds were just frozen solid, whereas other years it was only the top few inches frozen.

Garlic seems to have all survived though, up 4 inches now.  really amazing how they survive the cold.
I even got some gum boots this winter, but our snow left fast and I did not even get to try out my new flashy gum boots
