The little seed that could..
Look what I found in the bottom of the seedling tray this morning. Guess it was determined to grow with the heat mat warmth below and the little puddle of water. I'll have to try and save it, whatever it is..

If you do manage to save it, you have to keep us updated as to what it is and how it does!

Hey there Goosey and Bob,
I was able to get it to lay down with just the roots in seed mix and added more, then propped it upwards with more seed mix. Crossed my fingers.
The way it sprouted overnight in plain water simply entertained me this morning. Obviously doesn't take much!
GWN I bet you are right although there were about 6 different things in that flat, it was mostly tomatoes, some peppers, a few eggplant, some lettuce and stevia, oh and ground cherries.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
I vote...ground cherry...because this is the first year I plan to grow them also. I've never tried them!

With the speed of sprouting, I would say it is likely NOT a pepper.

THIS IS SO TIMELY..... I am pulling my hair out waiting for the pepper to pop up... whilst the tomatoes are taking over the place

I'll have to split the pot with GWN. I'm voting tomato. Only through process of elimination, the peppers and the stevia are so slow. I don't know about the sprouting of the other two but my ground cherries have been on the heat pad for days now and there's no sign of them.

That's one tough seedling. I'll go with tomato too.

I have to agree it's a tomato because it looks just like every other tomato sprout in the flat. I've seeded 15 to 18 varieties though....

ME TOO... this one will have to be the miscellaneous one... Last year the unique varieties I planted were SOOO different from each other, I could easily tell one from another.... without the labels

My ground cherries took 8 days to sprout. They start out with the stem looking thinner than my own baby fine hair. They are so far the most delicate out of any other seed I've started. Clarify- in my 2 short years of starting seeds.

I'm saying tomato too. So now you have to determine if it needs a cage or a trellis and if it should be suckered.llama momma wrote:I have to agree it's a tomato because it looks just like every other tomato sprout in the flat. I've seeded 15 to 18 varieties though....
