I saw someone link this on FB.  I did the 6 pack free seeds and just received 9 packs of seeds.  Requires a SASE with 2 stamps.
http://wintersown.org/wseo1/Free_Seeds.html

I received gaillardia, lilliput mixed zinnia, shasta daisy, shirley poppy, red hopi dye amaranthus, danvers half long carrots, beefsteak tomatoes, lorelay spinach, & evergreen long white bunching onions.   cheers

Thank you.  I love the author's first attempts at growing.  (I went to the web site) Very endearing.  I mailed a check and hope the only in USA includes Hawaii.  You would be surprised.  I have heard of tourists who come here and ask if we use American money.  It will be interesting to see what we get for Hawaii.

I've ordered from them before and been well pleased.  I always send a small donation for whatever I request.  They are a helpful organization.

I have ordered their tomato seeds before & gotten some "keepers".  There is usually quite a long list of varieties to choose from.

dixie....I just ordered some tomatoes from Wintersown yesterday.  I wasn't going to do it again this year.  I have so many varieties in my crisper, but I couldn't resist, as usual. Very Happy

R&R:  Unless they have changed this year, as long as you send in the copy of the calendar page and it's in a new envelope with required stamps, etc., you should be able to.  I've ordered twice in the same year before.

Quiltbea:  Yes, it's a disease isn't it.  I made a  list of all my seeds last night & have 23 different tomatoes.  Donskoi was one of my favorites from WS, along with Opalka, Dad's Sunset & Isis candy.  I'm proud of myself that the only tomato seed I ordered this year was Opalka.

dixie.....The different tomato varieties I have counting this year's purchases are 32 Determinates and 72 Indeterminates.
I've just got to stop buying and swapping them.  And with all these I don't have any of the 4 you mentioned.
I only have room for about 20-24 tomato plants this year and some I want to double up on so I won't be using them all, that's for sure.

Post  kauairosina 3/19/2014, 6:40 pm

I made the mistake of donating $10 to Winter Sown and got toooooo many seeds.  Don't know what I'll do with them.  Any ideas?

kaua.......Save them for another year.  Place them in sealed baggies and keep them in the crisper drawer of your fridge.  Tomato seeds will keep up to 7 years.

Free Seeds Empty Really? Seven years?

Post  kauairosina 3/19/2014, 11:18 pm

I need to find out more about the viability of seeds.  I have determined that I am indeed going to store seeds in the frig.  I am kind of dismayed that my pelleted seeds for Magenta lettuce and Napoli carrots have not germinated.  I wonder if the weather is too damp.  Usually I have good luck with pelleted seeds.

thanks for the advice.

Hi quiltbea,

I had to laugh at this.  Some women have shoes... you have tomato seeds!

Thanks so much for you post R&R.  I fear I will actually get some tomato seeds from them.  I seem to have quiltbea's problem when it comes to tomato seeds!!
