Hello everybody,
My name is Randy Wade, and I am in Batesville Arkansas and I am very excited to be getting started in Square Foot Gardening this year and enjoying reading all of your posts. So a great big howdy from Arkansas and looking forward to meeting all y'all on this forum here!

boffer, those are ponytail holders, much tougher and more durable than rubber bands. I thought they would be good to hold a steady tension and be able to remove and put back on, if needed. The idea hit me while I was shaving and looked down and saw one of my wife's ponytail holders.

Only one way to find out! The nylon string will I'm sure. If the ponytail holders deteriorate from the UV I may change to some kind of springs or something. They are really cheap so if they only last a year that would be fine.
