Hello fellow SFGs!!! I am really excited about this year and our new SFG! I am very optimistic about how everything is going to grow! I just recently discovered SFG... My wife and I planted a garden, the old fashioned way.... Then while scouring the web for gardening tips and answers, I always kept getting a lot of the same thing... Square Foot Gardening!!!! That was the first red flag!! I was breaking my back tilling up our existing soil... AHHHH... Doing more research about SFG, and then purchasing the book... I decided that we were going to redo the entire thing... And that's what we did!!! So much more happy with how it looks and is going to look without all those weeds!!!

YES! In North Texas here... can't remember the last time it got close to freezing in MAY. I suppose my lettuce is enjoying the cooler weather but my peppers and tomatoes could really do with some sun and heat!

I know it's ridiculous!!! I was contemplating whether or not to cover the toms and peppers last night... but it said it was only getting down to 37 so i took the risk...

I cannot let my wife see your photo of your garden; she would want mine that neat and clean. Very nice!

HAHA nice! I got a pretty good deal on the cypress mulch.. Bags were only $2.30 a piece... so less than $10 for 4 bags, which is good... best way to buy mulch is by the scoop, which is about a square yard... you can usually get it for like $20 bucks a square yard... but i don't have a truck so, I couldn't get it that way...

+1 The tomatos and okra are holding up pretty good, but the sweet potatos and peppers are struggling. I still have the eggplants under wraps until they get a little bigger and the sun comes back out. All from seed. I have 1 tomato that is still only about 1" high and only has 5 leaves yet others are bushy 10 inchers.

Even my sown lettuce and spinach is struggling. The store bought starts are going gangbuster though.
