Greetings from Zone 7B!
Hello everyone! I am excited and anxious to start my garden! Any advice about ANYTHING, especially about what grows well in my zone would be greatly appreciated!

Roxi, Welcome to the Forum!
Tell us a little about your hopes and dreams for a garden. Are you going to use SFG? Have you read the All New Square Foot Gardening book?

Re: Greetings from Zone 7B!
I read the old one years ago, and will pick up the new one on Friday. I just got married in November. My husband is retired and would like to try his hand at it. I grew tomatoes and summer squash in containers on my apartment terrace last year, and now that I have a yard I can REALLY cut loose!

Read the new book before you do anything. Things have really changed from the original book. And congratulations on your marriage and new yard. No stopping Roxi, now!
Seriously, after you read the book, you will have more specific questions. Many of the answers can be located through the search box and your regional topics. But you have the whole Forum with lots of helpful folks to get you going and keep you going, and going, and

Vermiculite
Hi there RoxiCox,
I am going to be a second year SFG enthusiast. I live in Fayetteville. You have Swint's Feed Store in your area (Jonesboro). They have a very good price on coarse vermiculite, so you might want to check them out!

Welcome to the forum RoxiCox. I live in Brooks (between Fayetteville and Griffin). Windmere is right, Swint's is a good place to start looking for Vermiculite. They also have lots of transplants if you are not going to start from seed.
Are you ready for the ice storm ????

I'm a flight attendant, so I'm out of town now. I'll probably be stuck here in Indianapolis for the next few days. :-( Are you hunkered down at home?

Yep, all hunkered down. For Wednesday, they closed the company I work for and all the schools will be closed also.
