Solier fly larvae in new compost
My new compost has quite a lot of live soldier fly larvae. I need to make some more MM and I am hesitant to use the new compost. Have any of you experienced gardeners used new compost with these larvae? What were the results? Thank you
Re: Solier fly larvae in new compost
Hi batmap, Thanks for replying. I have followed the link you posted. However, this is ready to use compost and I'm hesitant to make new MM with it. Last thing I want is to raise BSF and have the new flies return to the boxes to raise the next generation.

This should be what you are looking for. After I read it, I'd have no problem using the compost in Mels mix

Your welcome, I liked the last line too that claims the bs flies may also add beneficial bacteria to the compost.
