So it's September and our Southern California board has been a little slow.

How's everyone's garden doing in SoCal?  We're heading into our Fall planting time which is when we get break out all our cool season crops.

September planting is a little light with the following recommendations:
Beans, Bush
Beets
Broccoli
Bussel Sprouts
Carrots
Celery
Leeks
Lettuce
Peas
Spinach
Squash, summer

October kicks up a little more into the cool season:
Beets
Broccoli
Bussel Sprouts
Cabbage
Carrots
Cauliflower
Celery
Leeks
Lettuce
Onions Bunching
Onions/Garlic sets
Parsley
Peas
Spinach

This past weekend I just finish my new SFG boxes and mixing my MM.  Used a combination of home made compost, store manure compost, home vermicompost and a couple other store blends.   I planted carrots, radishes, Lettuces (romaines, tom thumbs, and lose cutting lettuces).  I also pushed the envelope trying to squeeze in a last summer patty pan squash, beets and put in a brussel sprout.  I didn't get a lot of new space, two small 3'x3' and a 2x5'  Still have space left in the one 3x3 I'm thinking peas, celery, broccoli, and maybe a square or two of garlic.

The good news is a couple of the beets and radishes are already up.

The bad news, my neighborhood opossum already is hunting for worms in the bin.

Spinach isnt doing well for me (YET)
I'm very happy with how this cold frame is coming, when time comes I'll extend this season into Dec.

Still getting:

A few peas

Beans!

Lettuce and salad greens

A couple of cukes (not "cuke's")

Zukes (not "zuke's")

Corn (just coming in)

Strawberries

Tomatoes (oh, woe is me if we get a frost soon); am trimming foliage to allow more sunlight to reach the vines)
