This was harvested, fried lightly in olive oil, and covered in thyme and Parmesan cheese.... My new SFG has been a wonderful producer for me this year!

Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
I don't have much ready right now, I do have a fall garden planted and it's looking good, I will have some more to harvest soon. So for my new avatar, I posting my basket I picked for the fair.

Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
Had to use the eight seater dining table as the biggest plate we have is only 16 inches across

The forked food is because I am still in my first year of using animal manure 7 beddings based MM and it does tend to be a wee bit strong .
Some of you will have seen the big bean in the gallery and heard of our fantastic kohl rabi etc... that parsnip in the middle of the table is over 24 inches long but because of the twin roots it took a long while of gently pulling for it to come free...in normal earth I'd have had to spend 20 minutes or so carefully digging it out
The big carrot is shown in the gallery is on my " size nine large width ) hand.
None of the veg are spoilt , the beans in the piccy are some of the most soft tender flavoursome I've ever come across.
The courgettes are only 16 days old and were here to greet us when we came back off holiday ..the day we left I stripped the two plants we have of all small courgettes & took them on holiday with us.... I think it's safe to refer to the these courgettes as Marrows without offending them .
I got them from a man at the market for my cow and apparently I'm going to have to change my name to Jack

Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
Since I'm not home, I chose to use someof the peppers my son harvested last month. But I started the seed for most of them and planted the pots. Maybe there will be something the garden when I get home in 2 weeks.

Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
Here's this morning's harvest (my 1st avatar for the month).
Two varieties of eggplant, 3 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, pickling cucumbers, MORE "Poona-Kheera" slicing cukes, 3 varieties of sweet peppers, okra, and a small Orange Habanero.

Our garden is producing like this about every other day!
Happy harvesting!

I just had to laugh about your comment. GG is what my great grandson has called me since he could talk. When he was born I told my granddaughter to have me called GG so that he wouldn't get Grandma and Great Grandma confused. Way too much for a little toddler. Now a 5 year old and the name has stuck. I love it.
About the carrots - my goodness, why would anyone want to eat a carrot that's been sitting in storage for a year. Yes, drool comes to mind when I taste these fresh ones. The color is so bright and the smell alone is enough to make one want to eat the whole batch.

GG, we had my son call his great grandma GG also. She loved it as it reminded her of the movie 'Gigi', which she loved. Good memories.
