I was very fortunate to get fresh on the tree figs this morning from my neighbor.  You can see the post and picture of the harvest in this thread.

After taking care of morning business and my after lunch nap, I hit the kitchen and made some jam of my prized find.

Here are a few pictures of the process.

Two quarts pealed and coarsely mashed.

Stewing in the pot with 6 cups of sugar, mashing them along the way.

Here is what  I ended up with.  The pint jar goes in the fridge for biscuits over the next several weeks.  YUM!

Wow Bob, those sure look wonderful!  I haven't had fresh figs in a whole lot of years.  I don't think I ever had fig jam.  I will have to try that sometime.  Your sure got those picked and preserved fast!
