Should I replant my lettuce seeds?

Should I replant my lettuce seeds?
Being brand new to SFG and gardening in general, I am obviously still learning. I planted some lettuce in one of my squares a couple of days ago, but after coming across a post about lettuce I think I may have planted the seeds too deep. I read that you should scatter the seeds over the top of the soil and maybe push them down a bit. I however used a pencil to make 4 holes and dropped a pinch of seeds down into each hole and covered them up. Do you think mine will have any change of sprouting, or should I sprinkle some seeds over the top?
Also, while on the subject of seeds...I also planted carrots, bush beans, and cucumber seeds this same way (but the amount of holes varied depending on what the book said). Was this the correct way for them?
One more thing, in Mel's book it talks about using a pinch of seeds...but what happens say if all of the carrot seeds I planted in one hole start sprouting?

Re: Should I replant my lettuce seeds?
Replant 1/2 deep is plenty for lettuce direct sown outside , kep them nice and damp but not sopping wet.
Re the carrots upto 21 days to germinate till ground temps reach 50 oF plus
It's best to snip of the excess ones early on .
Letting them grow on not only means weedy carrots till you thin them out it also means that after thinning them out you expose the remainder to attack by carrot fly because carrot flies home in on the scents made when you crush the carrot vegetation or disturb the carrots in the ground
I've got pheriphal nerve damage due to spinal injury and diabetes etc.
I can't always feel seeds with my finger tips and thumbs etc ... one way of getting past it that could help you is that I have made a mask of material with the spacing of 3/4 inch dia holes as required for Mel's spacing for the various numbers of seeds your likely to sow in a one foot square .
For instance ...
I prefer my main crop carrots spaced at 3 inches a part giving me 9 per square foot , I simply lay the required mask over the square and use a cut down plastic teaspoon to take a few seeds out the container and place them on the mask , then gently use a finger to slide the seed around the mask to the correct hole .... starting at the top left and going right then dropping a row and going right to left & so on till the square is fully seeded.
If the seeds needs a hole poke the hole in the mm with a pencil through the holes in the mask before you start sowing .
