I just got a pkt of Livingston Seeds, Bush Buttercup and I noticed it said starting indoors was not recommended. Has anyone tried it anyways with any success? I live at 7000 ft and any headstart I can get counts. Thanks

It's worth a try. Maybe start in peat pots or large soil blocks so transplant shock is minimized. Last year my neighbor was a little delayed in getting his beds made but had started a lot of seedlings. He had squash plants that were in 4" pots that were blooming before he transplanted to his beds. I, on the other hand direct sowed in May. He had squash most of the summer. I got nothing but squash beetles. Zone 8A

His on 5/24 about 3 weeks after transplanting.

Thanks for the reply Walsh, and that's just what I'm going to do. Sorry about your squash last year. I sure hope your neighbor shared!
