Those are so cool, thank you for sharing! Are the wooden molds very expensive and where do you get them?

Or you can make your own from jars in your own home:

QB, I made mine with jars too. I had such a terrible time with the newspaper getting moldy vs. the growing medium drying out that I abandoned this type of pot.

Camp don't give up in the idea , stand the paper pots in a tray and keep a few cups of water in the tray so the paper is always drawing it up.
The plants will grow like mad and should reach planting out long before mould occurs .. drying out will not be a problem .
Planting is simple, undo the bottom of the tube and snip off the paper sleeve once the plant is in the hole remove the paper and cover the plant root to a fraction above where it was & water it in well.

Re: Love my new pot maker!
I tried it two years, and had trouble with mold/fungus and plant failure both seasons. This may work better in a glass house.

I was doing it with a glass or jar too, but have switched over to peat for now because the pots dried out too fast and leaving water in the tray weakened the bottoms too much. I also had a really hard time finding newspaper that wasn't almost all color!
I do like the little pots though. I'll probably try them again some time

I make mine from newsprint when it is on sale. Usually around back to school time I will by a few tablets and don't have the worry of printer's ink. To much contravery over the colored inks.

Gunny....Good idea. YOu can get those newsprint drawing tablets for kids at most dollar stores and there's lots of pages to make pots.

Have you heard of soil blocking?
Google: Eliot Coleman's soil block how to video: (sorry I'm too new to share a link yet).
I've been coveting this little gadget! There are several video's online suggesting way's of doing your own one at a time. I used two pill bottles this year, one that fits inside the other to push the dirt out (see the video, you'll see what I mean). The blocks are holding just fine and are already starting to self prune on the sides. Next year I definitely want to go full steam ahead with this gadget; 4 pots at a time!
