Unwanted advertisements showing up
My posts all of a sudden have words underlined that lead to an advertisement of different kinds.
How can I stop this? I didn't initiate it to begin with.
And I don't know if I am the only one seing this on my posts.

I'll have to look into it when I get home, but my guess is I'll have to contact Alan to make sure we're all paid up.

Re: Unwanted advertisements showing up
I had that problem last month and it was tiresome. With mine they kept me from posting in a timely manner. They kept popping up as I tried to write or post and knocked me out.
I had a 'Screensavers' bar across the top of my screen from months ago when I was thinking of adding a screensaver. Never did but never removed the bar. Noticed a section on the bar blinked when an ad came on. They must have snuck thru the screensavers site. I deleted the screensavers software from my computer and haven't had a pop-up since.
Check your bars across the top and be sure you only have the ones you use and need, like your security bar or one you like and use. Delete any not needed.

Re: Unwanted advertisements showing up
Alright, I logged out and I can see we do have ads showing up when on as guest.
I hate do to shameless plugs...but I'll throw in a shameless plug in here for the forum.

I do know some donations have been made so I will contact Alan to make sure things get taken care of. Sorry everyone. Hopefully we can get this ironed out soon.

Good plug Rooster!
The ads don't bother me, I tend to ignore them. My drive is to get into the forum for the good stuff, all the posts and advice and friendship!

Re: Unwanted advertisements showing up
Thanks Triscia.
The credits generated by the donations help with the storage capacity for our gallery and file attachments to the forum as well. There's lots of great stuff stored in the gallery and I for one would really hate to see it go. Plus, some of the ads are a real turn off to guests and folks who may be poking around looking to join. Like the donation thread states, it doesn't take much to cover our costs and every little bit helps. If folks haven't done so, please take a second to read over the donation thread for more explanation.
