Should I buy worms?

I haven't seen any native worms paying a visit to my pile. Should I add some?

You could probably dig some up somewhere. For an outdoor compost heap regular earthworms work marvelously. Very Happy

Sometimes worms need to be enticed. ... Laying down a piece of cardboard on the ground, OR a pile of leaves, will attract them, I read somewhere else where you dig a small hole and place squash and bananas or other compostables... in the hole and cover it and if you go back a few weeks later it will be full of worms...

When I really need to find an earthworm, I go to an old soil pile that I have been amending with coffee grounds...big earthworms are found in pockets of pure coffee grounds that I didn't mix in all that well.

Low moisture, or extreme temps may drive them away as they look for the proper environment.
