Making teas.

I'm not sure where this should go?
I really would like opinions, good or bad!
Hi all,
I have a question about the following page. I've made compost tea and worm tea. I always put an air line in for a few days to let it stew. Is an air line necessary? What do you'all think about aerobic and anerobic? Would this grow this wrong type of bacteria for the garden?
Manure tea: Can tea be made of fresh manure? Would 3 weeks in water kill the bad bacteria?
What do you think of the weed tea?

I put a shovel full of compost in a 5 gallon bucket, stir it up and let it sit a day, then pour 1/2 into another 5 gallon bucket, fill both with water, stir it up and use it. Works for me.

When I actually lived on a farm with horses, we would mix up composted manure and water in the morning and use it that afternoon, it worked fine. Very Happy

I think it was quiltbea who also suggested putting compost in a sock and leaving it in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Replenishing as needed (the water and compost) Very Happy

For every five gallons of tea being made enhance your prospects by adding 1/2 pint of sugar syrup of 1 pound of sugar boiled to a syrup in 1 pint of water .

Pour in when still hot and stir well before adding the compost bag.
The sugar in the solution will encourage beneficial yeasts to grow and these in turn produce nice nutrients for the plants as they work and die in the soils .

Dad used to leave the bag of compost hanging off a wooden lath ...suspended by string . He'd stir the barrel daily till the water turned green , then he started to use it , topping the barrel back up with the same volume he had removed from it
