When do I thin the plants?
I have gotten my first pot of cucumbers to sprout up nicely (sort of). I know I have to thin the sides of the pot that have sprouted two seeds vs. one seed but I am not sure when to do it. Someone said on a thread that they thin at 3 inches but I forget which crop that applies to or maybe it applies to all vegetables. Here is a picture of my beginner plants in their pot. These are cucumbers.
The 'sprouts' are about two inches high.

Re: When do I thin the plants?
I looked through that link you posted. I may not have been clear enough. What I meant was, given the sprouts in my planter, when do I thin out those particular ones (what height or leaf size or whatever). I notice that the leaves are changing now or newer leaves are different or something like that. The first two leaves of each sprout were oval and smooth but the new leaf that is forming now is more pointed and appears serrated and not smooth.

Re: When do I thin the plants?
You can thin as soon as the second true leaves appear choosing what look to be the strongest plant in each grouping. Two groupings are almost ready. IMHO, I would only leave 3 plants to that pot. If you choose to do so, one grouping can be carefully moved (with a big ball of soil) to another pot. I might even try to separate the grouping for 2 plants in another pot. Cukes don't transplant easily, but it can be done.
