Okay western mountains and high plains it is our official tomato tuesday thread, show me what you got!
This is some sauce tomatoes (I can't remember what kind...) They just stared fruiting a few weeks ago!
These are the tiny tims a few weeks ago and they are covered in maters!
My Avatar is my lemon boy a few weeks ago, it was the first the start setting fruit and now has one on there bigger than my fist!!
I will take some more pics tomorrow. My brandywine also started fruit a few days ago, sweet 100s are blowing up too! It's been my best ever year for tomatoes!

Those are really good looking beds and tomatoes Rooster.
My tomatoes are only just breaking into flowers , I have two that have swollen into baby tomatoes no bigger than a pin head .. so small that even with a macro shot from the camera they are hard to see.... 
Perhaps it's just me being hopeful that I might just have a tomato or two later on .

Look at all those tomatoes! Looks like a great tomato year in our area. If we can keep em them from being burned up or blown away. New fire this morning 
Here is the tomatoes in a row in the green house. Basil is on the right side.
There are sweet million, purple cherokee, big beef and san marzano. All have lots of green fruits set.
Here are the orphans. They are coming along well after their tough start. All are blooming or at least have buds. The cherrys have some fruit set too!

Oh wow Turan and Rooster, your tomatoes are sooo tall, probably double my tallest one, I do have lots of tomatoes on though!

I too I have used the stock wire like you to make round frames for things to grow in /on etc.
A few days ago it occurred to me that I can make tall triangular frames or a tall ovoid shape using two U shaped frames that can be wired together.... if instead of bending the wire as you have done , fold it along its width so that the squares hinge where it is wrapped around the main strainer wires .
I have some of the frames in place and will take pictures Thursday when I get back home.

We keep having these nasty winds late in the evening. Most mornings afterwards I go out and find branches all twisted and mangled and bent. I just keep tying them up and so far it's worked ok.
This will be my first ripe and first ever for me Black Krim, and sometime today it split
I love the Zebra's. I think they look really cool! After looking at this picture, I need to go back out and see if those are eggs on the leaves there

This looks like it will be my first ripe Brandywine.
And drat! My other near ripe Black Krim cracked today too

I say deer and hubby says racoon. I feel like I am taking better care of the deer than my garden. I saved the one hanging on in the picture for hubby, paranoid me won't eat it now because of my ever growing fear of... catepillars (laugh now but it's true).
My brandywines also have BER...
I still have these babies from the patio tomato though
Everything is still green besides a few cherry tomatoes.
Great pics Rooster, those green zebras look like a must try for next year for me, they just look awesome!

I think this Purple Cherokee might be ripe! It feels a little soft like a baby bottom now

Rooster - all my globe tomatoes are splitting, including the Black Krims. It sure didn't affect the flavor though! Do you think you'll grow that variety again next year? I sure will. I loved it.RoOsTeR wrote:

We are eating tons of tiny tims and sweet 100's everyday! My sauce tomatoes are starting to ripen , the BER seems to be going away on my brandywine, and I have quite a few black crims growing strong! Life is good for the tomatoes (& us

Looking good Cheyanne! My black krims are loaded with tomatoes and when they "hit" I'm going to be flooded with them and the green zebras.

Leaves yellowing and blackening

I'm having weird issues with my tomatoes this year. The leaves all around the bottom of a few of the plants are yellowing and browning (no black spots). They are producing a ton of fruit, tho. I have another Cherokee Purple plant that just refuses to thrive - it's not producing any fruit and the leaves are all curled with dark purple veins. Also have blossom end rot on some of my ripening tomatoes.
This summer has been so blazing hot that I can't tell if I'm causing the BER because I'm watering too much or not enough - OR, it it's just that I needed to amend the soil with some bone meal before I ever put them in. I amended everything with a ton of manure and double dug all the beds. I'm not using the mix that y'all use, but my soil is rich, dark, and crumbly (for the most part).

I would guess that ammending the soil would be a huge help to your blossom end rot! Here is an awesome link to address other tomato problems!

My tomatoes are really starting to kick in the last several days. My zebras seem to ripen overnight and the black krims are starting to slowly ripen up as well. My brandywines so far have been kind of a bust...
The tomatoes look amazing and taste fantastic. I almost hate to eat them knowing they will be gone all to soon

I just picked my first black krim and my brandywines also seem to be a bust, they are all shrivled on the vine (insert advice here). I am deffinately going to have to try those green zebras next year (insert 
here).
