I understand that different seeds have different shelve lives; like chives is very short. I think 2 years max?
Now I pulled my spinach after it bolted and am going to let it dry and get the seeds. Never saved spinach seeds so any advice?

Re: Buying Seeds
If you keep seeds in a cool and dry, they will do better. I put mine in resealable plastic and in the fridge. One for cool weather & one for warm.
Was your spinach a hybrid? If so, the 'children' will be like one of the parents, but no what you grew.
If not, dry, store and use them this fall!

I am not sure if it was a hybrid. I was checking the net and they talk about male and female plants so I am concerned. But I have some drying out and will propably attempt to remove the seeds next week.
Currently they are green but the ones in the seed package are brown, do I have to get them out of their green shell?
