I found this guy on my cucumber vine just now. The research I've done leads me to some kind of weevil? But I can't fine THIS one with a feathery antennae.

Anyone know what this is?
Should I take it off or leave it? It's about the size of my thumb so I'm not looking forward to removing it! Mad argh...

My neighbor boy would use it for bait. But he's not home or I'd have him come get it. Rolling Eyes

EEEWWWWWW!!! Looks like a Pine Sawyer Beetle. If not, it is a similar wood boring beetle.

Yes, the wood boring beetles look to be right. He's gone this morning and I didn't see any eggs. I book marked that terrific bug guide. Thanks, ladies!

Next time I'll try not to be so squeamish. Embarassed I was doing a close inspection for eggs and tiny crawlies and I guess size of him caught me by surprise since it was almost in my face. ew!
