Totally ICK!
I found this guy on my cucumber vine just now. The research I've done leads me to some kind of weevil? But I can't fine THIS one with a feathery antennae.
Anyone know what this is?
Should I take it off or leave it? It's about the size of my thumb so I'm not looking forward to removing it! argh...

EEEWWWWWW!!! Looks like a Pine Sawyer Beetle. If not, it is a similar wood boring beetle.

Ick? I think Ick when I see maggots... ick... this beetle does look like some type of borer and probably was just passing through...Just a guess though. Maybe you can find it here Bugguide

Yes, the wood boring beetles look to be right. He's gone this morning and I didn't see any eggs. I book marked that terrific bug guide. Thanks, ladies!
Next time I'll try not to be so squeamish. I was doing a close inspection for eggs and tiny crawlies and I guess size of him caught me by surprise since it was almost in my face. ew!
