Hello from Cyprus EU :)
Hello All
I look forward to reading through some posts and perhaps getting to know some of your tips and tricks and experiences.
I am currently container gardening my vegetables as i am a complete newbie to this world of vegetables. However, i plan to build my SFG towards the end of the year ready for winter planting and next year.
I live in Cyprus EU, its very hot during the summer and the winters are reasonably mild.

Welcome to the forum. Are you able to get a copy of Mel's ALL NEW SQUAREFOOT GARDENDING BOOK? Available from Amazon. It explains the method of gardening the members of this forum are using and has a lot of tips and great information. Let us know if you are able to get any of the ingredients for the soilless planting medium we use consisting of 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite and/or perlite and 1/3 of a blend of composts.
We are alway interested in what is available to people in other countries and we love pictures of gardens all over the world.
Sounds like you will be able to garden all year long, but may not have the best results in the hot dry summer. But I'm sure between all of us and with advice from local gardeners you can have success.

Where are you situated ?
I used to live & work in Nicosia and had great friends who had a large allotment with deep well to the east of Nicosia
Where I lived we had raised beds filled with whatever we could scratch up , beg or steal .
My compost pile was all leaves ,bits of twig , grass , cut up newspapers and household green waste.
I've also spent many a day at Ayia Nappa & Figtree Bay teaching people to waterski and marvelled at the crops & irrigation between there & Dekihalia , have also played seriously towards KITTY beach & Qurium ( sp ) & Trudos etc.
Cor I could just quaff a half bottle of cool St Pante Lemone right now... happy days indeed.
