Hello from Central California!
I have 2 plots, one is my berry garden, in a 4 x 2 plot with 12 in boards i have 2 blackberry bushes surrounded by strawberries, and the standard 4 x 4 plot I have 3 tomato plants 1 pepper and assorted lettuce varieties...
I am slow to the table this year because of the wandering cattle on our property and the failure of the family to close the ol' homestead gate...ouch...can anyone say, "cows in the cabbage"!!
I have finally been able to build some containments with 2' wire fencing...I have secured everything with eye bolts in the lumber sides, this fix seems to be keeping the hungry cattle out of the berries...YAY! I also used 4' (5/16") dowels with eye bolts on each end secured to the 4 x 4 with eye bolts spaced at 1' intervals, secured with twisty ties...this was by far the easiest and most cost effective way to grid out my garden. and my berry garden kind of looks like a miniature greenhouse now... kind of cool
