Wonderful looking garden! Wow...what a lot of fresh produce you'll have (and probably already have). Good thing you like to can! It's fun to share how well MM and the squarefoot garden method works isn't it?! I find myself in teacher-mode anytime someone complements my garden. I'm working on my kids to give it a try!

Bravo for showing it can be done in the Arctic Circle of the lower 48.

My family in the tiny town of Connorsville will get a shout out about your garden. Their property is perfect for ANSFG, and it would be much easier. All the grandchildren love to come over and eat, so maybe they can come over and plant as well.

As a companion book, I highly recommend Month-by-Month Gardening In Wisconsin by Melinda Myers.

VeggieTales.....I hope you are ready for another spring. Are you starting seeds for this year's 2013 garden?

A tip about defeating cutworms: When you transplant anything, stick 2 or 3 toothpicks in the soil right up against the stem half in and half out of the soil. The cutworms can't wrap around the stem to eat it. It really works. I use them all the time. When seeds are sown and new plants pop up, stick in a couple toothpicks around those meaty stems. In time, the toothpicks will be pushed out when the stems get strong enough not to be on the cutworm menu, and they'll deteriorate.
I hope you had a wonderful last fall harvest and canned lots of those tomatoes. Hoping to see more pictures of your spring crops this year.
