Some bad, bad little caterpillars are eating my squash leaves, mainly the first ones that came up. Does anyone know what this could grow up to be. I smushed all that I could find. Just when I think the good bugs are taking care of the aphids, these things show up and I found a cucumber beetle in my black-eyed peas. I'm going to sew my tulle together tonight and place it over my beds tomorrow. Anyway, here's the pic...hopefully! On the left of the leaf, you can see the smushed caterpillar. What should I do to get rid of them.

Thanks so much!

I wish I could help, but I've never seen anything like that before! But at least I can bump this topic back to the top Smile

Does the little critter move like an inch worm? I had them on my cabbage and the leaves looked very similar. I think they are called cabbage worms as close as I can figure. I dusted with Sevin dust and haven't seen them for 2 days. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I don't know, because it never had a chance to move. LOL

What is BT and where do you get it?

Thanks!

I got mine at an organic nursery, but lowes and HD carry it and so does my local nursery. Think the trade name is Thuracide. And I misspoke, I sprayed with Bt and dusted with DE

I sprayed the liquid BT. I also think it is Thuracide. It is said to kill all catapillar type pests, it is concidered organic, will NOT harm good bugs or people. Can be used up to the day of harvest. It solved my cabbage worm problem. Help! Something is eating my squash plants! 3170584802
