Purple stems and leaves
I went downstairs last night to check on my seedlings and noticed that my roma tomatoe plant was turning all purple. I have on peppper plant doing the samething. Is that a sign of not being warm enough?

Re: Purple stems and leaves
I've heard and read that purple tomatoe leaves are the result of either a lack of potassium or potash (I always get those two confused).
My homegrown tomato seedlings did the same thing, so I lightly sprinkled some bone meal (a tiny quantity) around the plants and watered. Well, it's been a slow process, but they've perked up and are finally starting to grow, with no more purple leaves!

Purple
A few of my tomato starts that I have put outside have done the same thing. I attributed it to being in cool weather.

I read the cooler temperatures keep the plants from taking a nutrient up. Once they warm up, they will green up. Mine did the same thing.
Re: Purple stems and leaves
Thanks everyone. I started putting the outside yesterday and added some bloodmeal to the soil to help out so we will see how it works out.
