Tomato Leaves Turning Purple
I just noticed while potting up my tomato seedlings of 7 different types, that all of them are purple on the undersides of the leaves. When I looked it up I found a few possibilities: a phosphorus deficiency, a nitrogen overload, a common trait to the type, or they are cold which they will grow out of.
They live in mid 50's at nite and when I'm at work. If I know they will grow out of that I can live with it. But if it's a deficiency or overload I really need to something.
Has anyone else had this happen? What did you do?

If you have used a good compost blend in your Mel's mix in your garden, it should not be a problem once you transplant them. If you must wait quite some time to transplant your tomatoes into the outside garden, perhaps a small amount of weak liquid fertilizer will see them through.

Hmm...don't have any fertilizer, and they won't be going out for 3 or 4 more weeks. But I just potted them up into an brandy new batch of MM, so maybe the fresh compost hit will help? If not, maybe they'd like a very diluted compost/seaweed/urine smoothie? Or how would you make a fertilizer out of household ingredients?

Skim chocolate milk is pretty high in phosphorus.

I expect it will give them a boost. I just up potted all my peat pods into cups of MM for the same reason, nutrients.
