Minnesotan rooted in San Jose for 20+ yrs - 2nd-yr SFG -
Hello, I'm a native Minnesotan who has made a home for 20+ years in San Jose, CA. I've been a fan of SFG for a long time. Last summer, we built our first raised beds (tired of going to battle with heavy clay soil that is native to the area!). We like the portability of the beds--if it doesn't work one place, we can move it! I am getting into the year-'round gardening "thing" and am still enjoying the sugar snap peas. I have started my summer veggie garden and look forward to a productive season. The unpredictable weather will be the challenge this year--we've been experiencing late winter rains mixed with hot and cold spells, and aphids have been a huge problem.

Welcome! I'm new here as well - in the Boston area. I lived in Long Beach for 4 years and leaving there to come back here was a BIG mistake.

I am the opposite! A native Nor Cal girl (33 yrs) now living in SD (10 mi. from MN border). Took a while to get used to the short growing season out here!
I love my boxes as well - coming up on 2nd year with them. Post pics of what you have going! We LOVE pics!
