Hello all
new to this forum, hope to learn a lot here
I am not new to SFG however. My mother was a fan and I grew up gardening. we used raised bed gardening from the early seventies and when I saw the new improved SFG book I was impressed to see Mel had adapted SFG to it.
Anyway, having loved the idea of SFG since the 80s and having used it a lot I am glad I found this site and can learn more from those who practice it.
My current SFG is 2 strips coming up my walkway to my house that are 2 feet wide, I am amazed how many people compliment the way I have turned vegetable gardening into a landscaping feature but I still seem to be one of the few who does
in 2 strips that are 15 x 2 I get to eat a ton of fresh, organically grown vegetables each year and have a Potted herb garden also. I am about to turn one of my planters next to the house into an asparagus garden. But would be needing advice on that. My mother had a nice one but it will be my first time with that and understand it takes a bit of patience to get started.
Hope to converse soon
Jim

Welcome to the forum. Its always a great idea to use space one has availabe to grow a few veggies. Nothing tastes better than fresh from the garden.

New Here and Checking in 654548 There are loads of conversations here to answer your question. Use the search box, and make certain you have the little box checked so you're searching within the forum. People have been discussing the asparagus question recently, so you can jump in there to find some answers, and add your own if your questions haven't been answered yet. I've been watching those discussions closely since I want to grow asparagus myself...but it seems there is patience involved because you can't eat the sprouts for the first couple years.
