Hello from Green Country in Oklahoma
Hello Everyone,
I thought I’d tell a few things about myself so here goes…..
First let me tell how I found SFGing. When I was a boy growing up my family always had a garden and it was usually one of my tasks to take care of it. I have wanted to have a garden again for some time now. However, my bad knees and back has kept me from it. I came up with the idea of putting everything in a box and having it about 3 feet off the ground so there would be no weeding or bending to take care of it. I even thought; why not plant everything close together to save on space. I wondered if there might be some web site that might give me some pointers and guess what I found?!?! I had tried to reinvent the wheel! I now have “The Book” and a 4 by 7 foot bed on legs. (I had already built it with 2 x 12 lumber and ¾ inch plywood before I got Mel’s book.)
I am retiring from teaching school this year and looking forward to having fun with my new hobby! I live in the middle of 20 A. in the Northeastern part of Oklahoma. I know I’ll be reading a lot of articles in this forum for info during the next several months. I just want to add a big Thank You in advance to everyone for the knowledge I’ll be getting from you!
