Contest: My Pickle Jar
This is my pickle jar:
It's a 1 gallon pickle jar.
It's empty now, and I must say the pickles were delicious, giant dill pickles. Kinda like these:
Here's my pickle jar now:
It's filled with yummy carrots. They're not pickled carrots. Just regular ole carrots in water. Here they are again:
Can you tell me how many carrots are in my pickle jar?

The rules are pretty simple. Each member will get 1 guess how many carrots are in the jar. I have let Victoria from the foundation know how many carrots there are in the jar just so everyone knows there is a witness to the madness So, you get one guess, and make sure your guess is what you really want cause once you hit send there will be no post editing
Your guess needs to be in by 11:59 pm (your time zone so please be honest) Saturday April 7th! The night before Easter. . The winner will be announced on Easter day.
In case of a tie, there will be a similar tie breaker involving a jar and celery
The foundation is providing a couple of really cool prizes for the winner, so don't miss out!
So a big thank you to Victoria and the foundation for helping us out with our contest!!
Good luck everyone!!

Re: Contest: My Pickle Jar
Josh, this question might be better directed to your parents--it's not about the pickle jar at all. But, in the background of your photo and hanging from the pot/pan rack is what looks like a long oval cast iron grill. Is it cast iron, more particularly, vintage cast iron? I have had one for a long time, but do not know enough about it and want to learn more. Thanks, Nonna

Re: Contest: My Pickle Jar
Assuming you mean cut up carrots (not whole carrots to produce what we see in the jar), I'll guess 154.

We really do need a clarification as to your definition of "carrot." Guessing slices is much easier than whole carrots, especially with sizes of carrots varying so much.
Hey...everyone got their seeds for the contest?

Nonna,
That's RoOsTeR's picture of his kitchen and his jar of carrots.
I'm not sure now if I was supose to count the carrot pieces in the jar or was I supose to count how many whole carrots it took to fill the jar...I'm confused
Re: Contest: My Pickle Jar
Again, it's a contest. All the information needed has been given

Re: Contest: My Pickle Jar
Mmmm so you won't tell us if the question is based on pieces, former whole carrots, or if this is a silly EaStEr RoOsTeR RiDdLe of sorts?
You asked, "How many carrots are in the pickle jar" and "Victoria is a witness to the madness"....then I'm going with a silly "madness" riddle answer of zero! Carrots with their green tops and orange bodies - he hasn't got one of those in there folks. Just hacked up pieces of former carrots!

That's exactly what I wanted to say, except he did state this:
"It's filled with yummy carrots. They're not pickled carrots. Just regular ole carrots in water."
So, he has gone on record to state that, whatever his twisted logic and hidden RoOsTeR Rules, according his own words THERE ARE CARROTS IN THERE, and if he claims the answer is ZERO, we have PROOF in his own words OTHERWISE!!!

Good point. But his word was madness. So logic is out the window! Or is it? Isn't this fun?

Re: Contest: My Pickle Jar
None
I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
