Post  RoOsTeR Sat Mar 31, 2012 4:50 pm

This is my pickle jar:

Contest: My Pickle Jar IMG_20120331_133206

It's a 1 gallon pickle jar.

Contest: My Pickle Jar IMG_20120331_133138

It's empty now, and I must say the pickles were delicious, giant dill pickles. Kinda like these:

Contest: My Pickle Jar ImagesqtbnANd9GcRaxiDiWl-Y_klFuT5aJ0s5yfOgT0xNpbyn9p13S1W-d-uZnZ97cw

Here's my pickle jar now:

Contest: My Pickle Jar IMG_20120331_133737

It's filled with yummy carrots. They're not pickled carrots. Just regular ole carrots in water. Here they are again:

Contest: My Pickle Jar IMG_20120331_133628

Can you tell me how many carrots are in my pickle jar?

The rules are pretty simple. Each member will get 1 guess how many carrots are in the jar. I have let Victoria from the foundation know how many carrots there are in the jar just so everyone knows there is a witness to the madness Very Happy So, you get one guess, and make sure your guess is what you really want cause once you hit send there will be no post editing Wink
Your guess needs to be in by 11:59 pm (your time zone so please be honest) Saturday April 7th! The night before Easter. Very Happy. The winner will be announced on Easter day.
In case of a tie, there will be a similar tie breaker involving a jar and celery Razz
The foundation is providing a couple of really cool prizes for the winner, so don't miss out!

cheers rock on carrot

So a big thank you to Victoria and the foundation Contest: My Pickle Jar 3170584802 for helping us out with our contest!!
Good luck everyone!!

Josh, this question might be better directed to your parents--it's not about the pickle jar at all. But, in the background of your photo and hanging from the pot/pan rack is what looks like a long oval cast iron grill. Is it cast iron, more particularly, vintage cast iron? I have had one for a long time, but do not know enough about it and want to learn more. Thanks, Nonna

Assuming you mean cut up carrots (not whole carrots to produce what we see in the jar), I'll guess 154.

carrot Very Happy Good luck with the contest Very Happy carrot

We really do need a clarification as to your definition of "carrot." Guessing slices is much easier than whole carrots, especially with sizes of carrots varying so much.

Hey...everyone got their seeds for the contest?

Nonna,
That's RoOsTeR's picture of his kitchen and his jar of carrots.

I'm not sure now if I was supose to count the carrot pieces in the jar or was I supose to count how many whole carrots it took to fill the jar...I'm confusedContest: My Pickle Jar Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

Mmmm so you won't tell us if the question is based on pieces, former whole carrots, or if this is a silly EaStEr RoOsTeR RiDdLe of sorts? Smile Cool
You asked, "How many carrots are in the pickle jar" and "Victoria is a witness to the madness"....then I'm going with a silly "madness" riddle answer of zero! Carrots with their green tops and orange bodies - he hasn't got one of those in there folks. What a Face Just hacked up pieces of former carrots! rofl Contest: My Pickle Jar 998388915 Contest: My Pickle Jar 370856013

That's exactly what I wanted to say, except he did state this:

"It's filled with yummy carrots. They're not pickled carrots. Just regular ole carrots in water."

So, he has gone on record to state that, whatever his twisted logic and hidden RoOsTeR Rules, according his own words THERE ARE CARROTS IN THERE, and if he claims the answer is ZERO, we have PROOF in his own words OTHERWISE!!! Contest: My Pickle Jar 889526
