Skagit County, WA
Got a kink thrown into my works today when my partners daughter offered to let us rent/buy a little house she has in Skagit County, WA if we want to move there. All of our kids are in WA and here we are in VA---BLAH!!!
Just finished building my boxes today, loaded the peat, and two composts into the wheelbarrow.
Dilema---do I start the SFG here or do I wait until I move (??) to WA??
Anyone on here from that area?
Judy

I would guess that depends on when you would plan on moving. A couple weeks? Wait. A couple months? Wait. A year? Plant
I am my gardens worst enemy.

Check out the Pacific Northwest forum. Furbalsmom is host. Lavender Debs lives in Snohomish County which is on the south border of Skagit County.obrdrln wrote:...Anyone on here from that area?...Judy

Sounds like you may just get what you wanted.Eventually I hope to make my way back to the Pacific Northwest where my two sons reside. I love camping and hope I can strike a happy medium between gardening and camping. I have three canine furbabes and one feline Princess.
I agree, continuing with your SFG in VA depends on how soon you might move. Remember with the current cool temps here and in VA, there is very little you can plant outside yet, maybe some peas. It is probably too early to start your brassicas outside by direct seeding.
Keep us posted.

AND this morning, out of the blue, I had an e-mail from a cousin I haven't seen in 20 years who wants to buy 33 acres that I own in KS---saving it for my retirement nestegg. I read his offer and burst into tears. Can you say Divine Intervention????
So, it really is all up in the air. In the meanwhile, I'll continue to nurture my herb babies....
Who knows, Furbalsmom, you could see us driving a 1968 Ford Ranger pulling a 1965 Shasta travel trailerturning into your campground--LOL!!

You just never know.
When we were transferred from Omaha, NE to Eugene, OR, our baby, about 19 at that time and in the Navy, was transferred from Connecticut to Bremerton, WA. We all moved the same week.
Mysterious Ways.....
