Dreaming of SFG
This will be my second year doing SFG. I ordered my seeds from Baker Creek last Saturday and a hot-house kit from Amazon on Monday. Neither has arrived yet. I had a dream last night that my seeds arrived. Talk about obsessing! I cannot WAIT to start some seedlings indoors within the next few weeks!

You are not alone. This is my 4th spring and I'm dreaming the same things. Next month I can start sowing seeds indoors to germinate my own crops, which I started my 2nd year and found so fulfilling. I plan and re-plan and change my lists and add to them and take some away. I don't skate, ski or snowboard so garden planning is my winter obsession. And its such fun!

Woo, hope you have fun playing with your seeds! I got mine early this week and I was so excited. But then the thrill died, because I knew it would be months before I could plant them! I'm really excited about this spring. I have big plans to expand and try a lot of new plants! I found an awesome variety of dwarf corn that's meant to be grown in containers. It was practically yelling at me to use it in my SFG.

This will be my first year starting seeds indoors. I am super nervous about it. I hope I don't totally mess things up!

Re: Dreaming of SFG
peanut......Read all the posts you can about seed starting and then take the plunge.
If you lose some, won't matter. You can start lots more. They are only seeds, not plants, until they sprout. Then you can put them under lights and watch the magic happen.
Have fun.

Re: Dreaming of SFG
Thank you Quiltbea! I have been reading those posts like crazy and looking at seed starting pictures that people have posted. I actually bought the hot house/warming pad based on a recommendation from someone else on the forum (can't remember who). Just waiting for it to get here and then I need to go buy some grow lights. Saving up my two liter bottles right now

I'm so excited right along with you!! Have fun! I got seeds and a grow light this year. I'm only doing a few seeds now, it's early, to practice things out and figure it out. I hope you find success!

Yay, Kay! That's like Christmas all over again. That's a fantastic find. I'm sure they'll be put to good use.

Re: Dreaming of SFG
Kay, it always amazes me when I open boxes that have been in storage for a bit. Other than kitchen items, I was not good about labeling, mostly generic labels like "MISC" BR or LR or my best one STORAGE and the box contents were quite a mixture of items, so I never knew what treasure was going to be in there.
Enjoy your grow lights.
