Making my 2012 garden plan but....

I'm seriously thinking about moving the plans up by 2 weeks. I just pulled out my 2011 plans and I planted spring crops on or around March 13 but with all this abnormal weather and someone posting on FB about weather being 5 degrees warmer than usual (she is in Alaska) . I'm thinking about starting my plans March 1st.

What do you think? Tell me if I've lost my rocker, please!!

Oh, I'm starting broccoli seeds today. Planning on about 16 for the spring crop.

Makes sense to me. Here's what I wrote in my regional forum's first of the month update:

When is the best time to start spring planting of cool crops in the PNW? You'll know for sure about 30 days after the best time has come and gone! My weather varies enough from year to year, that that's the way it is. So I make smaller, staggered plantings to either take advantage of early nice weather, or cut my loses if we have unusually bad weather.

There's nothing to lose but a few seeds if you plant your cool crops too soon.
