I just bought my copy of '2012 Old Farmers Almanac'
It says 'first frost is about Nov 25'

Well, I guess I wasted my money, $5.99 this yr.
I should try to get my money back!

Woke up to a white yard, heavy frost.
I'd better go ck. the garden and pull veggies that don't take frost well.

Our Wimington, NC zone 8a was close enough to the coast to escape the frost. Only got to 36*. Only plant affected was the ornamental sweet potato in one of the hanging baskets. But I bought some 6mil plastic and will make some covers. Also have some row cover.

I'm very glad that we didn't get snow! The weather station is on the river, so they are saying we didn't get below 32, and I'm only 8 mi. from them, but it was only 31 here at 8:30am.

My tomato plants, with their blooms got bit. If I want any winter toms I'll have to put row covers on. Broccoli and lettuce are fine.
So it'll be BLT's without the t.

We already are getting evening temps in the 20's. Smile

A winter tomato will only ever be in my dreams!

The temps for this week for my area are going up into the low 50's so that should melt this snow. I'll be glad because my lawn was covered with leaves that are going into my compost bin.
