Is that really what they're saying in the Gateway to the West? Really? A squirrel is assisting your playoff hopes? Really? No wonder you're scarce lately...you're out looking for the lucky squirrel!! No wonder you guys quit trash talking months ago!

Of course that's what THEY (and by that I mean NOT me) are saying. That silly squirrel ran across the plate, didn't affect a thing, and the whole city has jumped on this bandwagon....mostlly for the ridiculousness of it. It's playoff baseball, what can I say? Our town is crazy nuts, no pun intended, for baseball. But, I probably didn't need to explain that.
Within 24 hours, the Rally Squirrel (Buschsquirrel@twitter.com) had a twitter account with over 14,000 followers! And, yesterday morning, during rush hour traffic mind you, there was some nerd on a highway overpass dressed up like a squirrel waving at traffic.
All that said, last night's game was incredible. I figured we had a 50/50 shot...even in the 9th inning still. I never felt "good" about that game until I saw our pitcher in the 8th inning. He changed his demeanor. He started pitching with a much faster rythym. The boys and I were noticing and started yelling, "he's feeling it now."
Nothing like playoff baseball. Bring on the BrewCrew! (Here in STL, we hate those guys as much as they hate us these days. The past couple of years it has become a pretty heated rivalry.)
