I uses shredded office paper as mulch on the potato tower boxes----great success!!! The paper formed a thin crust when wet to prevent it from blowing, still light weight to allow air and water in, and kept the soil cool and moist. My boxes were FILLED with nice fat worms. I did two boxes side by side---one with the paper and one without. Will definately be using it again next year on the potato boxes. Oh----it broke up easily and mixed nicely in the soil after harvesting.
