Searching for a particular topic.
I had to return my copy of The New SFG to the library as the time expired while I am waiting for my new book to come.
Today I decided to go and get the PVC and the Rebar to make a hoop house but tryning to use the search for making a hoop house, I could not find the thread that gives the actual measurements. Lots of hoop topics but not the one I want which I think is Boffer's thread.
I want to make a hoop house for a 4x4 and I can only remember that it uses a 10ft length x 3/4" of PVC and a length of 1/2" Rebar.
Have I got it right?

You could also do 1/2" PVC and 1/4" rebar and save a smidge more green. Either way, you will be pleased. You can even adjust the height of your hoops by cutting down the PVC.
I am in a phase where I prefer the plastic trap the air closer to the plants. So, my hoops sit about 30" above the MM in my SFG. I used to be as high as 48", but think I may be losing a little more heat with that setup.
Also, consider buying two sheets of plastic if you are wanting to get more than frost protection. Even 6mm plastic doesn't hold heat well. Two layers...not touching...helps a lot. I lay my first layer over my plants and the 2nd layer over my hoops and can get adequate protection down into the upper 20's.

Thanks, BBG.
I will see what they have and decide from there. I am only doing one 4x4 this fall
as I have too much to do in my life right now but I do want to make a start and see if I can nurture some stuff that I have not tried before.
These past two seasons I have stopped when the first frost has blackened everything and kicked myself when there has been weeks of above freezing temps afterwards and I could have carried on with lettuce etc.
