Hey there! Welcome aboard. You live in a great region...with a great host. I encourage you to check out the regional subforum if you haven't. It's a great place to find out what people are planting for the fall season.

Some of us farther north are dealing with heat this summer, but we can't do much about fall planting until it breaks since we know it will cool off dramatically. Our plantings consist almost entirely of cooler season veggies like broccoli, lettuces, and spinaches. None of us can plant those yet...unless you get farther north and into the northeast.

Embrace your long growing season, and I hope to see you active around the forums.

Welcome naturegurl1111, this is a great place to start. I am still debating a fall garden, we need to fence in the chickens (I had to let them run just to show hubby that free range, means they think they can go ANYWHERE, and they have including his shop and the tree above the coup), and fix the goat gate. I have 1 tomato left in the garden, and 4 in pots on a shelf outside my kitchen window, and then a spattering of malibar spinach, southern peas, herbs, and such.

We love pictures so if you can share those, and what are you growing?

I'm growin' beans, peas, carrots, broccoli, cucumber, more tomato, scallions, radish and attempting lettuce right now for the fall garden. I might start some cabbage and cauliflower soon (not sure). Have fun with your SFG and always feel free to ask this newbie any questions.

Thanks for the wonderful welcome! I just planted carrots, eggplant, onions, parsley, oregano, two kinds of tomatoes and will start my much-awaited lettuce in October.

Can't wait to pick my own salad greens! We've got sweet potatoes and hot peppers growing now. Once I figure out how to post pix on here, I'll put some on. Have a great day, everyone!
