This grape vine was cut to the ground by the previous owners and grew a little last year but had gone NUTS this year!
This squash plant had decided to bypass the fence...it made friends with the bush instead

Hey, CP, waddup? Your gardens are looking nice. Did you finally figure out a solution to your fatty squirrel and Mr. Groundhog?
Um...in the past two years, isn't this about the time of year you usually abandon us for 'your boys'? On the football team, I mean....
Hey, hope ya stick around long enough to fill us in on what you tried new this year that worked, and what didn't.

Yes sir. Two a days start on wednesday. Ive not had any issues with my Groundhog or squirrel!! I dont know why but I can tell you theyve been no issues. I attribute it to my baby boy kitty cat. I know there was a skunk family and a racoon family but they havent been a real problem as long as I give them cheap cat food. The biggest issues have been stupid japanese beetles.

Gorgeous! I love the Japanese Pink Eggs! Are they juicy or meaty, better for sauce, canning, or slicing?

CP,
I'd long wondered where you had gone and have missed your commentary and pictures. Looks like you've had considerable success with your garden. Please keep us posted.

They are a light flavored meaty mater. A little too much for a mouthful. And because they are pink of course my four year old self proclaimed princess loves them!Goosegirl wrote:Gorgeous! I love the Japanese Pink Eggs! Are they juicy or meaty, better for sauce, canning, or slicing?

Honestly I didn't do a ton different, I attribute the success thus far to the weather and planning. I pulled the weeds, topped off the boxes, added some organic fertilizer( lots of rain early in the season) and thats it! I had to unfortunately spray my beans for Japanese beetles and EVERYTHING for skeeters, but mother nature takes the credit.
