Easter Eggs
Boffer has hidden two Easter Eggs in the forum's new look.
There is an easy one just for fun. You'll know you found it because you
wouldn't want to plant under this moon!
The first person to find the hard one gets a prize. You'll know you found it
because it will be celebration time.

Re: Easter Eggs
I rather go looking for easter eggs in July instead of bugs in the garden...But! It's raining here and now is a great time for a nap. I work weekend double's and I'm kinda tired after spending the day here, and in the garden. Got 2 hrs. to nap before starting dinner. See you guys later...have fun looking for the eggs.

Re: Easter Eggs
Arrrgh! I found the poll hidden on the colored SFG but only answered "yes". Although I did want to see what would happen if I clicked "No", I assumed it was tallying votes and I didn't want to throw the count off.
Way to go Rose!
Oh, I wondered about the holes in the official forum leaf too but couldn't get anything from them.
As far as emoticons looking celebratory, I think this one's best, but don't think it's new:

Re: Easter Eggs
What is up with the 2 hidden square foot garden books that show up in the welcome screen on the main page of the forum? Are they new? When you click on them they take you to the main SFG page to buy stuff.

Re: Easter Eggs
Yeah, I found those too. I think those are technically Easter eggs too, since they are hidden. But they just connect to the store so you can buy the book.
Re: Easter Eggs
I'm not seeing anything that looks like an egg.

Re: Easter Eggs
A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, in-joke or feature in a work such as a computer program, web page, video game...
It looks like Rose was the first to get mooned! When someone finds the hard one, it will be obvious per the clue. Looking for an Easter egg is just a fun way to get members looking around the forum a little more closely. It's always surprising to learn how many members have never seen the chat box at the bottom of the page.
The image of the SFG book that shows up on a mouse rollover is a compromise between promoting the book for the Foundation and keeping the index page as clean, simple, and easy to navigate as possible.

fer cryin' out loud! I was lookin' fer eggs. piffle. Thanks for the explanation Boffer!

Sorry guys, but I am computer dumb.
Where is it?
When you say Orange Area, do you mean the orange area at the top of the page with "SFGardening, the Official Forum?"
I can't find it!!!

Re: Easter Eggs
Hey FB - what zoom is your browser set to? Is it at 100% zoom? I noticed that when I was in a browser that was set to 75 or 80 percent zoom, I couldn't get to the hidden image. Go to the top of the screen and look at the orange box with the SFG logo in it. Slowly move your cursor around the lower left corner of the orange box (above the "google search bar", and it will turn from the trowel to a carrot - that means there is a hidden link there...click it and voila!
ETA: I think you may also have to be on the forum home, not in an actual thread...

Re: Easter Eggs
The orange area is the header, the background to the logo, at the top of the page.
The 'spot' is now red to help find it; it is only on the home page.

Re: Easter Eggs
@ Boffer
It really was an "accident"! I had been searching for quite a while, and finally had given up. Then, just as I was about to close and go to my gmail button on my browser, I happened to pass over that area, and my trowel turned to a carrot for just a micro-second. It was just enough of a blip to catch my attention. Believe me, I was shocked that I'd actually found it!!
Thanks for thefrustration fun!!
