Lookup your first and last freeze/frost dates by zip code

Dave's Garden

My Results:

Each winter, on average, your risk of frost is from November 5 through March 29.
Almost certainly, however, you will receive frost from November 19 through March 13.

You are almost guaranteed that you will not get frost from April 15 through October 22.
Your frost-free growing season is around 221 days.

I have done this before. There is always something weird about when I will receive frost(it is always from & to whatever date I look it up). But it is interesting. Here is mine:

Each winter, on average, your risk of frost is from December 21 through January 19.

Almost certainly, however, you will receive frost from September 22 through September 22.

You are almost guaranteed that you will not get frost from March 5 through December 3.
Your frost-free growing season is around 336 days.

Sweet potatoes take a long time to grow. Sweet potatoes need about 95 days to mature.
The longer you keep them in the ground, the bigger they’ll get.
Dig up before any frost. Stick your shovel into the ground about 8 to 10 inches away from the main stem,
so you don’t accidentally damage any potatoes-- lift up. Be careful, sometimes there's more then just one potato your bringing up.

Notes for next year: Place potato tubers in at least a 10 inch high bed.

Here is my first grown sweet potatoes, grown in a 4 inch bed.

Two more beds to fill on the opposite-side with beans/peas and I'll then be set 4 now. Very Happy
