Hmm....my first SFG was going great! But my baby tomatoes have that big dark spot on the bottom (blossom end rot)....I've read some previous posts on SFG where someone suggested using Tums...but how many and how much do you dilute it? Has anyone else had any success in correcting this problem?

I crushed one per square and sprinkled it under the mulch. I'm guessing 1-2 won't hurt.

Thank you! I will try this. My grape tomatoes had 2 bunches that were just fine, and now the new clusters are showing signs of BER. Does anyone know if the tums works quickly? I'd hate to lose all my forthcoming tomatoes! Sad

In my understanding once fruit show the signs it is just too late for them. I would pick off the effected ones so the plant expends no more energy on those Sad . Give the plant some tums or powered milk and enjoy the new health fruit it puts on. Very Happy
