Genovese Basil
The books says to plant 1 basil per square for large ones, or 4 for small ones. Which one is Genovese Basil?
Do you have any examples of which varieties are small and which are large?

Genovese Basil
Seed Savers Exchange says their seeds produce plants 18-24 inches in height. There may be differences from other seed outlets, though. Whatever, it'll be delicious!

Re: Genovese Basil
My packet says 22in.
Does that mean just one per square? Because I planted 4 They are still seedlings, though.

Keep in mind you will be harvesting lots of leaves from your four plants (especially if you make pesto to freeze for winter use), so at least one at a time will be smaller than its siblings. If they appear to be outgrowing their space, make more pesto, and invite the neighbors to a pasta party.
