Howdy! Um...once I cut off the ugly yellow leaves, that helped. I mean, I didn't notice a different with the rest of the place...it was just more attractive without the yellow-leaves-of-death at the bottom.
We had a surprise rain last night and temps dipped (by So Cal standards) but nothing near a frost, so I think everything will be just dandy once the Sun passes overhead.
Thanks for your help

Do Over
So yeah, it only got worse. The leaves continuted to fall out and the ones that stayed looked kind of ugly.
This was a store bought plant in Box # 1. None of my store bought plants ever did much, and ALL of my seed plants did awesome (Box #2), so I pulled the store bought imposter of a Tomato plant up and started fresh on a couple of squares in box 1.
I planted some new Romas in the garage on 5/4 and they've already sprouted enough for me to move them to a larger container. Did this last night after reading that they can/should be buried up to their eyeballs (just under the leaves). This works out better since Romas are really the only tomatoes I can stomach.
I'll post some pics tonight when I get home
Thanks for asking.

Re: Sick Tomato/To-MAH-to
I have never planted Romas. But we are enjoying making our own tomato soup and tomato sauce for spaghetti with fresh oregano and basil. Was wondering if I should try some Romas for that. What do you use your Romas for?
But we love our BLT's so have mostly grown slicing tomatoes.

Re: Sick Tomato/To-MAH-to
NA, sorry to hear of the plant demise. I hope the replacement is strong! I have grown romas for sauce making but I gave all that up in exchange for the fabulous and rare Gilbertie, a very nice paste tomato that is not pithy and can be enjoyed as table fruit as well as canning! I have seed available.
