So, I've been reading about using mylar as a reflective mulch. It's supposed to help keep the roots cooler and reflect beneficial light back onto the plant. Seems to be catching on in Las Vegas and AZ. Now those are more arid climates than where I'm at, but we really aren't that humid or rainy. And it's supposed to repel aphids and whiteflies, which were a big problem for me.

So I decided to give it a try. Meant to do it much earlier (and it would have been SO much easier putting it in before the plants!) but couldn't find the mylar and didn't get around to it until today. Also would have been much easier if I'd waited for the afternoon winds to die down, but I was impatient. We just happened to have some shiny tape from some random project, so I stuck it down with that. Totally an experiment; I have no idea what I'm doing! Laughing
