greetings from nashville, TN!
greetings all! my name is rowena, although online i am more often known as rostitchery. i am a newly-minted certified educator for the SFG foundation. i am also the wife of a fabulous artist, and mom to a fabulous seven-year-old daughter.
short bio is that i started out as a professional dancer, then when i retired from the stage i went into costuming, as it was a way for me to use my skills in sewing and patternmaking and still stay close to the performing arts. i ended up as the resident designer for the opera department at vanderbilt university. when it was time for ella to begin school, i left vandy so i could begin my new role as a homeschooling mother. i am now able to indulge in learning all the homemaking and homesteading skills my grandmother knew before she got married at age 17. LOL
i've been reading the forums for a few months now, i have learned a lot and hope to be able to contribute something of value as well. i'll be leading my first two workshops this weekend, one here at our home and one for wives of deployed soldiers in fort campbell, KY. i look forward to getting to know you all better. thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience so generously!

Re: greetings from nashville, TN!
And we look forward to getting to know you, too!! Welcome aboard.
I think you are a little ahead of us here in STL as far as when your season begins. Hopefully, we can compare some notes, though, as time goes on. Glad to have you.
Get that camera dusted off, too. As you likely already know, we go nuts for photos.

Welcome
Welcome to the forum, Rowena. I've always loved that name.
It sounds as though you are keeping mega-busy. Glad you are spreading the SFG word at home and at Ft. Campbell.
Keep us posted on how your garden grows, and as BBG said, we love photos. Don't forget to check out the regional forum for info specific to the Mid-South region.

Re: greetings from nashville, TN!
well thank you for the kind and enthusiastic welcome! i have plenty of pictures to post, usually i put them on one of my blogs but right now i'm very tied up with a project that has kept me from posting for almost a month. as i mentioned, my husband is an artist (formerly a lighting designer--that's how we met), and he has a show coming up soon that we are busy organizing. and for some reason my little girl has decided she wants to move up a grade level right now LOL so we're working together on that. she is going to teach the children's group this weekend for the saturday workshop, so i hope to have some pictures to encourage others to garden with their children.
again thank you for the welcome, i'm happy to have found so many like-minded companions.
