The collards would only be planted in the front of the square, leaving the back for the zucchini.square foot garden 2011 spring" alt="" />

Hi ktgrok,

I am not familiar with some of those varieties, but overall it looks pretty good to me. The one thing I'd say is, on the right hand side you might have a little trouble reaching past your peppers to get to that lettuce square in the middle of your bed. That being said, you could probably grow a whole bunch of lettuce in even more squares, before your peppers get big.

Happy gardening! flower

Welcome to the forum, ktgrok.

That's a nice garden plan. The only thing I'd caution about is being careful what variety of watermelon you grow. Some of them can grow really long vines.

Keep us posted on how it turns out.

Nice plan! I would echo the recommendation to trade places the pepper and lettuce.

Thanks everyone!
I will make sure to plant that lettuce square early, so I can harvest before the pepper gets too big. That way it will be cleared to make more space for the zucchini, which everyone has told me takes a lot of room.

The watermelon is a smaller variety, so I hope the vine is smaller too Wink
