NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
HI EVERYONE!!!!
We have created a new database for IHA and ISO seeds.
If you have seeds listed in either of the sticky threads PLEASE TRANSFER THEM TO THE NEW DATABASE NOW. In the middle of February I will be deleting the two old stickies.
There are detailed instructions on the database itself when it opens but if you have any other questions please ask in this thread and we will help the best we can.
You can either go to the seed exchange part of the forum and access it from the link at the top of the page, or you can use the link provided above and then click on the database.
PLEASE NOTE: If you enter your seeds in the database please be diligent about updating the spreadsheet when you are out of seeds, no longer willing to exchange them, or have received the seeds you were looking for and no longer in need.
The entire SFG forum is volunteer based only...no one gets paid to keep the forum as wonderful as it is. So please do your part in keeping the database as current as possible.
Also without BOFFER and KIMBERTANGLEKNOT this would NOT have been possible. Kimbertangleknot was nice enough to create the whole database and Boffer got it up on the forum in the best format that everyone one could see. If he hadn't helped me I would have never figured it out in a timely manner.
So let's be thankful to both of them for taking their time to make this possible.
Jennie

Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
I'm definitely a computer dummy, which is nothing new. Technology befuddles my old brain. It took forever but I figured out how to get the cookies thing fixed and finally got thru.
Wow, what a long bunch of instructions. Way too many for my brain tonite.
I just can't figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do.
I'll have to try again tomorrow. Much too complicated for me tonite.
Maybe I'm just tired.

Quiltbea, the next time you are on the forum and have some time I will get on chat with you and walk you through it! Just check for me at the bottom of the page when you are gonna be on for a bit and if I am there send me a PM and if I get it in time we will work on it. If we don't make it on the first try keep trying, we will connect.

Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
Ty boffer, and great job on getting the iframe. I never would have gotten it to work. Nor would I have thought of it in the first place.
quiltbea, it is a lot to read on the first page, I tried to make it as detailed as I could for explaining it, I admit though, I really don't do a good job at explaining things, I really am a "show me" type of girl. But if you have any problems or need something explained I'll be more than happy to help, when your brain isn't mush due to needing sleep. (bah MM beet me to it, I'm on a roll!)
To whom it may concern:
I have a yahoo messenger screen name that I'd be more than happy to give out if anyone needs a little more explaining, or I can use the chat on the forum, or I can use the chat on the seed exchange. I just want to make sure that everyone knows how to use it to it's full potential and wont stop offering seeds for trade because they don't know how to use it! And, if you cannot figure it out still (you have to give it a fair shot) I will be more than happy to add to it for you if that needs to be the case.

Where IS the spreadsheet.
miinva....you stated you listed something on the spreadsheet.
I can't even find the spreadsheet. Where is it?

I go there boffer, but all I get is the instructions on how to enter info in the database.
Do I have to go thru the steps in my profile to see the database????

Go there again and look for two things.
On the bottom is a blue bar with tabs. Start clicking on them, and you'll see the database 'pages'.
On the top right of the instructions there is a drop-down box. If you click on it, it will drop down and we can chat right there. You'll see me there now as boffer10. You will be shown as AnonymousXXX.
See you there!

Are you still with me, Bea? Is this what you are seeing?
Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
Yes, that's what I get.
I'll stay for awhile now.

I saw you, then you left, go back and stay, I'm there too
Thank you so much boffer.
I feel like a new woman. With boffer's help I know how to check on the spreadsheets now for seeds.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I'm forever in your debt.

Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
I know how to post things on the spreadsheet now and also how to contact someone else.
I have been trying for a hour to list something with my own personal number at the end but I can't make it work. My number is u767 and when I copy, paste and edit that line with the 4 XXXXs and change it to my own number, and then click on it to try to see if it works, it doesn't. No little tiny window opens beneath it.
What am I doing wrong this time?

Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
I had trouble with that too, I'm sure Boffer is on his way to save the day, cape flying in the wind and all, but just in case anyone else has this problem. Type this one in the text box, up and to the left of your screen, it's a bit longer than the boxes you look at when checking for seeds.
Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
boffer,
this dipstick finally got it to work.
Whew, you must be really happy that no one else is so darn thick trying to get thru this maze of information.
I'm so sorry to be such a pest.
Thanks again for all your help.

Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
You just happened to be the first brave one to say something! Not a problem.
Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
Kudos to you quiltbea for trying, so many folks just would throw their hands up and not even try. I appreciate you giving change a chance.

Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
I got my ISO seeds up, took me a bit to figure out the PM box, and the correct link, but I got it done!!!
Re: NEW DATABASE FOR SEED EXCHANGE PLEASE READ
Yeah... It's not a very easy thing to explain, I tried my best though. I think I'll try to work on capturing some screen shots and either making a video or posting them showing how to do the PM thing. Though, with the SuperBowl on Sunday and I still have to make drainage holes tomorrow, probably not gonna happen until after the Packers win!
