What is meant by Peat Moss?
Hi Everybody,
I am Lloyd from The Netherlands and I am having difficulty understanding what is meant by Peat Moss.
You see, apparently you have the green stringy mossy stuff called Sphagnum and you have the brown soily stuff...and they are both called Peat Moss.
What am I to buy?
Can anyone help me clear this up please :-)
Thank you so much
Lloyd

Howdy Lloyd:
Welcome to the Square Foot Garden forum. What will you be planting in your garden and do you have the book? By the book of course we mean the "ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening" book by Mel Bartholomew.
The "ALL NEW" book lays out a much improved method of gardening over Mel's first book, "Square Foot Gardening". This method is simpler with less watering, weeding and hard work than in the first book. It is such a joy to garden by this method.
As always if you have any questions that we can help with please ask. We learn from each question that is asked and enjoy helping others.
God Bless, Ward.
